Time does fly!

Man, what the hell i've doing these past few months, almost a year actually! My last writing is in September last year, then after that nothing. I just basically vanished from the earth, sorry the net :). What excuse i have now for those ppl out there who's been dying waiting for my next writing being published hehe. To be honest, no one. I only have 1 or 2 friends that i have forced to read my writings in  here, and they ended up crying asking me not write anymore lol.

Anyway, let me try to recollect what i have been doing these past 11 months. Mmhh, in Sept-Oct i work in this Roy Morgan Reseach doing this kinda data entry. I worked there less than 20 hours/week due to the work limitation for international students like me.

The job was really boring. I always can't wait to get out the office, and head to uni or home. Everytime I get so desperately bored, i always start imagining good things, for example what am I going to do this weekend, what would happen if i won a million dollar, what would i buy and i start smiling again :)

The job doesnt last long. Turns out im not really good with that job. That job is for those who can really pay attention to details for a long period of time. They don't call me for the next project, finding out that after lunch, my work is deteriorating, most probably because after lunch i usually doze off, or having plenty distraction due to my mind playing around on its own.

I think this job quite gender bias, i can tell that because i am the only male doing this job, and the entire floor where i work full of female. They want me in the first place because sometimes they need indonesian around to translate some data. But compare to female, I must admit that we are no match in dealing jobs requiring details and patience.

I read some research study saying that in the ten years, most female are going to earn more than their male-counterpart, and more household headed by female. It means there are going to be more house-husband in the future.

Im getting bored writing this, i might gonna take some nap continue later on. Cya

Happy Father's day

Today is Father's Day in Australia, or probably in western world as well. I wonder why we don't have Father's Day in Indonesia? Does it mean we don't really appreciate our father? Well, not necessarly. Ironically, we do have 3 different day which celeberate women's role. First, of course, mother's day, women's day (the first of Women's Congress), and Kartini's day (a national women hero).

Is it just me? or most Indonesian men have an akward relations with their father? Oh, okey, it's just me :). I do have a bit envy to western way in showing up their affections to their kids. It's no strange here to say " I love Dad" or " I love you Son", even if the son already a grown up man.

I can't really remember when is the last time I actually hugged my father, or vice versa. Yes, of course, at the airport when I'm about to leave for Australia. The hugging thing is very rarely among Indonesian men, becuase I think it is considered ackward, unmasculine, or soppy.

After think about it, that's not only happen to father-son relations, but also mother-son or might daugther relations. Overall, our culture are not used to showing off affection verbally and phisically.

I really wanna elaborate more on this topic, but reality calls..I've got go back to the "supposed to be finished assigment".

Father's love is crucifying, a loving son will let himself be crusified ( from some movie)

What a lazy lad!

Not really sure what i've been doing for this past two months. I havent been writing anything since June, in  fact i think i forget that i have a blog. Now Im trying to recall what I've been doing since holiday...mmhhh...visiting some friends...watch plenty of dvds....dowload bunch of software and videos...bought some laptop accessories from ebay...bought a flower plant from ikea...have few casual sex...that's it, nothing more, actually i haven't really done anything so what I should be writing about?

Well, then i just post this then just fill it up the page :)

What it means to be Australian...

Being Australian is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.

Only in Australia... can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.

Only in Australia ... do supermarkets make sick people walk all the way to the back of the shop to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.

Only in Australia ... do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries and a DIET coke.

Only in Australia ... do banks leave both doors open and chain the pens to the counters.

Only in Australia ... do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars on the drive and lock our junk and cheap lawn mower in the garage.

Only in Australia ... do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place.

Only in Australia ... are there disabled parking places in front of a skating rink.

NOT TO MENTION... In ONE year!

142 Aussies were injured by not removing all pins from new shirts.
58 Aussies were injured by using sharp knives instead of screwdrivers.
8 Aussies had serious burns trying on a new jumper with a lit cigarette in their mouth.
543 Aussies were admitted to Emergency after opening bottles of beer with their teeth.

and finally...

In 2000 eight Aussies cracked their skull whilst throwing up into the toilet.

PROUD TO BE AUSTRALIAN
